Hi everyone,

Sorry for the delay. Here’s an update on upcoming events at BTS:

Barn Practice!!

We have revamped the Grooming/Tacking Clinic and Barn Chores programs. Every Saturday from11am to 12 noon, we are offering “Barn Practice” to all students. Riders may come down to practice any area that they want, anything but riding that is. So if you need extra practice in grooming or tacking, come one down. Or if you want to learn how to polo wrap, we’ll be here to show you. Or if you want to do barn chores, we’re here to help you. Instructors will be on hand to help you. This will also be the time to review Horsemaster levels. We will begin testing again soon. Barn Practice will occur every Saturday except show Saturdays. There is no need to sign up in advance, just show up!

June In-House Show!!

Come celebrate the end of school at the next In-House Show! When: Saturday, June 21st beginning at 12 noon. Paid registrations with horse choices are due by June 7th (although we’ll give you a few extra days if you haven’t signed up yet). If you have not shown with us before – give it a try, it’s really fun and is a great way to enjoy the excitement of showing without the added stress or cost of county level shows! Our shows are for all levels of riders. So if you can walk and trot then you’re ready! And adults – we have a division just for you! Please visit the show page on our website for more information on how the in-house shows work and what’s required of each rider. Note that for our advanced riders, your division will be all jumper classes. Cost is $75 to enter and $50 horse use fee if you do not own your own horse.

If you plan on showing and have not shown with BTS before, you’ll need to attend the show Clinic on June 14th from 11am-12noon (note new time!). You’ll find out all you need to know and do for showing. A parent is encouraged to attend as well.

Registration forms are attached. Remember, we need these turned in asap, but horses are first come first serve so get your forms in early!

July County Show!!

The next Orange County Cooler Show will be Saturday, July 26th and Sunday, July 27th at Sycamore. If you would like to participate in this show, please fill out the attached BTS show registration form. Ruthanna will determine divisions and will handle your registration with the show association. If you do not own your own horse, please indicate your 1st-3rd choices. BTS show fees are $50 per day for the rail (coaching) fee and $75 horse use fee if you are not an owner. These fees are non-refundable and are in addition to the fees charged by the horse show association which start at about $75 per day for the walk/trot division and go up from there. If you are unsure if you are ready to show at the county level, please check with your instructor.

Summer Camps and Pony for a Week!!

We still have space in our one week summer camps for beginner and intermediate riders ages 8-14. Session dates are June 23-27, July 7-11, July 21-25 and August 11-15. All camps run 8:00am-12:00noon. Riders get a full riding lesson each day, PLUS lessons in grooming, tacking, horse care, anatomy, psychology, horsemanship, bathing, tack care, jumps & strides, and crafts & games. Cost: $325 per week. Sign up by emailing Meg (meg@btsetc.com). Note: the June 23rd camp is close to full, so get your registrations in!!

And for our more experienced riders, we will be offering two one-week “Lease a Pony for a Week” sessions. Session dates are July 14-18 and August 4-8. As with the Spring Pony for a Day, these sessions are for current BTS level 3 or above riders as they must be experienced enough to handle their pony/horse unassisted. From 10-2 each day your rider can ride and otherwise hang out with their favorite BTS pony or horse. And from 2-3pm every day, riders will get a clinic. Cost is $325 for the week. Bring a lunch!

See you at the barn!
