Very little is required in order to begin your riding lessons at BTS. We provide helmets in the beginning, but if you decide to continue beyond your first month, we require that you purchase your own helmet and appropriate clothing. These can be purchased from El Toro Tack and Feed, and if you tell them you are one of the BTS students, you will receive 10% off!
BTS requires helmets be worn at all times by ALL riders. BTS staff and trainers all ride with helmets. We value you and your head, and we take our responsibility as role-models for our younger students VERY seriously.Any RIDING APPROVED helmet will do, your choice.
Riding pants (breeches or jodphers) and either tall boots or paddock boots with leggings are required of all intermediate/advanced riders, and any serious rider. Gloves are nice too, if you have tender hands. Your own riding crop will insure you have it when you need it. If you are ready, you might wish to have spurs. Ask your instructor if you've "earned your spurs."
